SMARTER Brunei held a press conference on Friday at the vicinity of the association’s future premises in Jerudong to announce the "Presidents Charity Giant Walk", which will be held on May 2.
The event is aimed at collecting funds for SMARTER Brunei to buy the building at a cost of $1.9 million, which will be used as the permanent premises for therapy, education, social training and business course to assist autistic individuals and their families.
According to SMARTER Brunei President Malai Haji Abdullah bin Malai Haji Othman, the centre is currently caring for a lot of autistic individuals who are registered with its education programme.
"SMARTER centre in Sengkurong can no longer accommodate the rising demands," he said. "We need a bigger and more permanent building to cater to these individuals."
Besides the upcoming walk, he also called for donations from the public for the new building. — Courtesy of Borneo Bulletin. Pics courtesy of HBK.
